So cool! Sounds like something from a late 80’s action movie
How can I achieve his lead tone?
What gear are you using?
@@spade8094neural dsp vst lol.
@@ilay829 I wish I had that shawg ☠️, id just make it clean with a delay,
@@spade8094I need me a good multi effect pedal, but they are too expensive and will not give me the allan holdsworth tone…
Actually now that I think about it, distort it, and lower the dist until it's barely there
Does anyone know how this part is done ?0:55
AMAZING
I heard this song probably like 20 years ago. Was ahead of its time then..still ahead of its time now.
Imagine an entire album like this with Morgan on drums. I'd cream my boxers.
I've always loved how much of an unabashed fanboy Fred is of AH.
The phrasing is top notch my fave
Reminded me of "Zeta 1 Reticuli" from Sol Niger Within.
We all bow at the alter of the great AH.
Wish I'd known about this sooner. Wonderful track.
ホールズワース師匠への敬愛の念が感じられる。。 自分も永年のフォロワーだけどコード進行が激ムズ過ぎてお手上げ。 ソロの弾きまくりとは違うエゲツないストレッチと音選びが神レベルなんだ。
The fade-out outro is the same fade-out used on Meshuggah’s Contradictions Collapse album.
long live genius
Minute 10:19 until the end is recorded on “Sublevels” from Meshuggah’s Destroy Erase Improve.
and is also used on SDFX Tathagata track
I'm pretty sure this IS Allan Holdsworth. Why are you lying to us?!
This is as talentless and bad as rap. Just the other side of the coin.
Thank you forposting this its the first time i’ve heard it and it is bees knees cats ass dogs ballls and pretty titty♨️💔🖤🖤🖤🤍❤️❤️❤️💜💔💔❤️🩹❤️🩹☮️💓💘💟🤍🤍🤎🤎🤎❤️🩹🖤💜🖤🖤💞💞❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🔥❤️🔥
Bless you. Were you ever on the ftp?
This is like a mix of Gentle Giant, King Crimson and Al Di Meola... Mind = Blown
This is 100% pure Holdsworth bro.
i can see why he likes to hand out with mats/morgen
That Sublevels reference at the end! 👌
I fucking love Sublevels Outro
yeeeessss first time I heard it it blew my mind
I knew it from Sol Niger Within
isn't that from special defects?
@@krackkorn1952 it's both on sublevel and sol Niger within
When is this demo from? I *need* to know more about this…
97 and i think it comes along with another demo called "33"
how was this song released? as far as i know, his second solo album has been in the works but isn't released
🔥🎸🔥 De los guitarristas más brutales que existen Frederik, influenciado por el genio Holdsworth.
Cocktail of Thordendal, Holdsworth and Lovecraft, i love it
These are the sections that Immutable is missing.
Thats bc Fredirik only contributed 4 solos on the album. I feel like he is saving this stuff for his 2nd solo album.
@Paperino yes
Actually, the last track, past tense, has some really cool jazz-esque chord progressions. Just that Marten doesn’t have as much of a jazz/progressive writing style as Fredrik, but both are amazing in their different ways.
@@Djent_Djeneratoridk Marten wrote The Last Vigil and Acrid Placidity which both have some jazzy chords
Sounds s lot like the more melodic parts in destroy erase improve. Which can never be a bad thing. Love it ❤️
Damn this is so so good !!!! 🔥
The intro reminds me of Resident Evil 2
0:55 kills me
I always see you on sopranos videos and I always think of this track lol
*Fredrik writes his songs with an electronic abacus.*
Such a genius became such a lazy bum
?
@@Noone-ew2wk Well it doesn't seem like he puts out much material but it's understandable once you see how hard it is to produce records
@@TheRealSorav I think he had a lot of plans for Sol Niger within 2 but things didn't line up for him. I'm assuming he wanted to work with specific people and plans got messed up. I really wish he would he would make and release it. But I got too much respect for him to call him a bum.
@@Noone-ew2wk As a fanboy I totally dig the lazy bum stuff hahahahaha, but talking serious I think he just finish building his studio which seems to be huge. DOnt know if his commitment with meshuggah is strong as in the past which sucks, but oh well what can you do. High hopes for Special Defects 2 to be release soon.
Special Defects 2 is definitely on its way, and was the key reason for his hiatus from Meshuggah and for his minimal contributions to recent albums. This also explains the marked decline in quality of Meshuggah's music from Koloss onwards imo. Let's face it, he wrote their best songs!
eargasm
That's a good lost tribe song. 👌🏻
So good
This is sick.
This remake is brilliant \m/
Love this track man. Awesome production too. I'll write some music like this one of these days...
Original recording sounds better.
sound orinal is more dark diferent mastering more pure and real sound without cleaning noises in 2010 you can ear everything more clear and not exactly her same
vocals are cringe on both
@@tfwnoyandere deeper vocals just suited SOANM far better though, original isn't "cringe". there's no comparisons in the vocals even though I love mechanise as an album
@@TheGreatGodPan the intro on this song is fucking cringe, and the screams on this whole album (soul) suck ass. the cleans are really good though
@@tfwnoyandere not as cringe as your shit opinion lol
I wish meshuggah employed this feel in their newer music. They always get the groove and feel right on point, but they’ve completely abandoned melody for the last 20 years
Destroy Erase Improve is peak meshuggah. We need more of that. Nothing wrong with the cool atonal riffs, but every once in a while some chords or a melodic section helps bring the listener back to earth I feel. That album had the perfect balance of rhythmic riffs and melodic sections
Max ur tripping
Yes
Yes but we still got Intronaut and Animals As Leadears at least and they're amazing in mixing heaviness and jazz melodies.
What about the new album? What do you think?
This is like Allan's IOU and Road Games with a smattering of Sand periods.
@1 1 He could never have Allan's grace and mind-boggling improvisational abilities.
@1 1 There is Roy Marchbank. Technically he is mind-boggling. Musically his output is a fraction of Allan's.
If there is one guitarist able to imitate AH so well it is definitely Fredrik Thordendal. The drums are programmed with the "drum kit from hell".
@1 1 How many guitarists copy the styles of other guitarists? As many as there are grains of sand on each beach on earth. How many guitarists copy the style of Holdsworth? It is but a mere few of those grains.
Another is Tim Miller.
@1 1 hey Mr ignorant, do Holdsworth play 8 strings guitar and make brutal songs like Fredrik? Each has its own qualities yet similar styles. Have a w@nk
11. “If you try to copy Allan Holdsworth, you just end up sounding like a bad Allan Holdsworth “. Guthrie Govan
@@frannyp46not Fredrik though. He sounds like the real deal.
Holdworthian Warble!
Very Allan Holdsworth!🔥🔥🔥
i am sorry to say but Meshuggah without Fredrik is like Iron Maiden without Harris
But Per is great the band.
Per is playing Frederiks parts very Well no doubt but his solos is just so boring and not in the same ballpark as Frederiks and that is what i miss about the shuggah
Agreed
p**n music so relaxing 😌
Amazing
I could very wrong ... not like that’s ever happened before but... I feel like defects 2 may be more of a jazz fusion type album than defects part 1 ... still with very heavy moments ofcourse we’d all love to hear that as well but who knows.
I would guess that solo offering number two won't be anything like special defects. I know for a fact he enjoyed Anders Björlers Antikythera alot, as if that would be any indication haha. Expect anything out of the ordinary and you might be right. That's just in his nature. I know I will blast it on ridiculous volume for the whole neighborhood to enjoy if and when it arrives.
That idea of Defects 2 being more of fusion directed album would be amazing. Can you imagine a collab with musicians that played with Allan Holdsworth like, for instance, Jimmy Johnson and Chad Wackerman?
@@jacobtapianieto9655 Time has proven that I was very wrong in the way that there is no defects 2 at all yet.
nice percussion, as well as beautiful tone.
